This study examined the use of Information and Communication Technology (ICT) in learning by students in library and information science departments in polytechnics located in the South-South region of Nigeria. Delta State Polytechnic, Ogwashi-Uku and Auchi Polytechnic, Edo State are the area of study. The population chosen for the study is made up of 200 students out of 420 students that constitute the population of library and information science students of the two polytechnics. A survey design was employed, and data was collected through questionnaires. Out of 200 distributed copies, 153 were returned. The findings revealed that one of the primary reasons for low usage of ICT facilities by students was their irregular engagement with the available resources. The study found that the overall use of ICT by students was at an average level. In light of this, the study recommends that library and information science students in these polytechnics should maximize the use of ICT facilities to a greater extent, as this would help them fully benefit from the resources available. Furthermore, it is suggested that library staff should adopt a more user-friendly approach, and students should acquire essential IT skills to navigate ICT tools effectively. Additionally, it is recommended that the school libraries be equipped with stable internet access to facilitate student access to a wider range of information resources, including computers, printers, and the internet.
